Improving Bedroom Interior Without Expenses: 5 Simple Steps
Step #1: Remove Everything
Yes, the first step is to remove all items from the room — turn the bedroom into a bare stage without decoration. Take down curtains, all photographs and paintings from the walls, clear bedside tables, remove decorative pillows, empty wardrobes and dressers, and even small light furniture. Now that only the most essential pieces of furniture remain, step back. How do you feel in an empty room? Doesn’t it seem cozier and brighter than usual? Analyze what you like now in the space and what you would like to add.

Step #2: Conduct an Inventory
Now take a look at the items and objects you removed from the room. Analyze whether they are necessary and how long it’s been since you last used them. It’s amazing how many old unnecessary items can be stored in one room for years: old phones, boxes from tech products, New Year wrapping paper, worn-out diaries. Get rid of such things without hesitation! Removing decor and textiles from their familiar environment is a great opportunity to assess their necessity. Perhaps that painting has long annoyed you with its appearance, but it covers a stain on the wallpaper, while that decorative pillow has faded for years, but there’s no replacement. It’s important that only items that evoke positive emotions remain in the renovated bedroom.

Step #3: Begin Deep Cleaning
No matter how many times a week you vacuum or dust the room, it’s time for deep cleaning! With minimal furniture and items in the bedroom now, this will be much easier. Walk through with a cloth to the farthest corners, wipe windowsills and cornices, remove cobwebs from ceiling corners — yes, this does happen! Send curtains, bed linens, and other textiles for washing.

Step #4: Start Decorating
Once the room sparkles with cleanliness, it's time to decorate. Gradually return selected items to their places: your favorite family photo in a beautiful frame, a stand for jewelry, a cozy blanket to wrap yourself in, the book you're currently reading. But some items are better not to bring back here: for example, a chair where clothes are constantly thrown, collections of vacuum cleaners, decorative pillows you throw on the floor every evening — it’s better to sell or give them away on special websites. The bedroom might look too empty, and you may want to buy some new decor. We recommend giving yourself a week to think it over — most likely, you’ll get used to the interior and new purchases will stop bothering your mind.
Step #5: Maintain Order
Don’t let your guard down — always maintain order in the bedroom. Put things back in their place after using them, don’t let clothes pile up on chairs, and make the bed every day. Limit decor and trinket purchases. That way, your bedroom will always be a place for full rest.
