Apartment Repair: Winter or Summer?

The first snow has fallen in our city:) That means winter is not far away. But that's no reason to skip renovation. With simple precautions, renovation can be successfully completed even in the coldest winter weather, just as well as in summer.

Summer Renovation: Disadvantages:

- Summer is the peak construction season. As a result, contractors face long waiting lists; some even outsource parts of projects to partners due to high workload. With rising demand, construction service prices increase.

- The same happens with suppliers of building materials, who sometimes face shortages due to high demand. Prices for materials also rise.

- In summer, contractors aren’t short of work and may choose only the most profitable projects. This means clients often have to wait for experienced workers, teams, or companies, and face price increases.

Winter Renovation: Advantages:

- In winter, it's quite different. The number of orders drops, and contractors must offer significant discounts to win clients. During this period, many promotions and discounts become available.

- The same trend occurs with building materials and equipment — for example, air conditioners are much cheaper in winter than in summer.

- Moreover, clients receive far more attention in winter than in summer.

Winter Renovation: Important Considerations:

- Building materials should be purchased from sellers who can guarantee proper storage conditions. On construction markets, materials are stored in containers and may freeze during winter, making them unsuitable for finishing work. Buy materials only from sellers with their own storage facilities.

- When doing renovation in winter, always check the base temperature. Surfaces where dry mixes are applied must not be below +5°C. The room itself must be heated.

- Always verify whether specific materials can be used in cold weather. This information is usually clearly stated on packaging — read it carefully!

Good luck with your renovation!
