Living Room Design Combined with Other Rooms
A living room-studio is a phenomenon that is becoming more and more common. Modern trends in residential interior design popularize the demolition of some walls and the merging of rooms. New apartments are initially built with such layouts.
Planning the interior of a room where both a living room and a children's room must be placed is a complex issue. A child needs their own space, the opportunity to play and study, and to go to sleep at the right time, while guests visiting parents may interfere. However, a guest area is still necessary.
If the only option is to combine the living room and children's room, there are several ways to create the design of the space. If the child is very young, part of the room or a niche can be walled off with curtains or separated by a low decorative partition. In this case, most of the room remains as a guest zone.
A room for an older child can be zoned using furniture. However, undoubtedly the best option is a full separation of the room if possible. Sliding systems and gypsum board partitions can help in this regard.
The design of a living room-child's room, created in this way, is more suitable for teenagers.

Living Room-Studio Design
A living room-studio is a phenomenon that is becoming more and more common. Modern trends in residential interior design popularize the demolition of some walls and the merging of rooms. New apartments are initially built with such layouts. In practice, this means that the living room is not a single room but a zone adjacent to several other functional zones.
The absence of walls does not mean the complete lack of boundaries, so the living room needs some limitations. The transition from the living room to the dining area can be open, visually marked only by different floor or wall finishes or lighting. For example, the living room zone might have several spotlights, while the dining area could feature three low-hung lamps with shades.
The transition from the living room to the kitchen can be separated by the dining zone or a bar counter. A living room-studio design adjacent to other zones can use suitable cabinets, shelves, or portable partitions as 'boundary markers'.

Hall-Living Room Design
The design of a hall-living room should emphasize the additional space that has been created.
To achieve a stronger effect, one can apply identical wall finishes in both the living room and the hall. Zoning can be done with flooring, for example, the living room floor can be covered with carpet, while the hall floor is laminated. Even here, identical finishes are not excluded. Especially effective will be a hall-living room design that combines with the hall if both floors are tiled or made of ceramic granite and a matching style is chosen, such as country.
Near the entrance door, a small cabinet can be placed, but in a combined space, low furniture such as a console or shoe shelf will look better. A mirror cabinet or large framed mirror near the entrance is also appropriate. Furniture and decor in the guest zone and hall should match each other stylistically.
