PS House by Inception Architects
The PS House is located in a low-density urban park on the outskirts of Braga, Portugal.
The plot has an approximately rectangular shape and is situated in an area with a steep slope, irregular and winding morphology. It faces north-northwest direction and opens to a small valley near a small urban agglomeration and some fields.
The house's features are implemented across three different floors facing north, descending along the slope while following its contours. This approach creates a coordinated functional hierarchy by height, with spatial progression moving in the direction of descent: functional zone, public zone, and private zone.
The house is built on the ground in a 'terrace' structure that follows the irregularities and morphology, consisting of three connected blocks.
Each block corresponds to one of the three distinct adapted zones of the house, organized in a simple and uncomplex program:
Functional zone – [above threshold: 328 ft]
Public zone – [at height of 318 ft]
Private zone – [at height of 308 ft]
The entire interior of the house aims to incorporate additional green space and spacious views, while its positioning demonstrates maximum respect for the surrounding environment and natural landscape. It also makes optimal use of the most favorable part of the site for building placement and cozy outdoor areas.
