House PL by AI2 Design
AI2 Design completed the House PL project in Piura, Peru. This minimalist modern residence with a total area of 4,300 square feet on two levels features an excellent private backyard including a pool. Both the interior and exterior of this house follow minimalist design, giving it a clean and spacious appearance.

The idea of the project located in northern Peru in Piura was defined by the unique shape of the plot for this 400 sq m residential house.
What we achieved in this typology of houses with a courtyard is the integration with the external space through sliding doors that fully open up common areas to the courtyard. The entrance into the house gives a feeling of being outdoors while being inside.
The first floor is completely open to this large courtyard, which contains a rectangular pool centered on the axis, surrounded by a natural wooden terrace that allows for a smooth transition from interior to exterior space.
The front facade has interesting tall windows that ensure privacy for the dwelling and provide fresh air circulation on the first floor.

The floating second floor does not touch any neighboring structures and is placed based on an analytical study of sunlight. This level houses the main sleeping areas, accessible via a concrete staircase with wooden framing. This special staircase emerges from the main concrete wall of the dwelling. At the top of the stairs, you will find a full-height window providing natural lighting and views onto the courtyard.
We placed a spacious two-car open garage area between the service wing on the northern side and the kitchen/pantry in the living part to ensure a seamless natural division between these two zones.
Considering the contextual environment of this Peruvian city, we chose a modest material color palette — white plastered facade for accentuating volumetric design and natural wood to create a cozy feeling. We selected a gray transitional concrete material to connect these two finishes.
