Peruco House by Pedro Calle + El Sindicato Arquitectura
Located in the quiet suburbs of Peruco within the Metropolitan Region of Quito, this house offers a refuge from urban hustle. Surrounded by mountains and green vegetation, it serves as a sanctuary for connecting with nature. The design focuses on harmonious interaction with the environment, maximizing mountain views through western windows and ensuring privacy via a continuous brick facade cladding. The ground floor accommodates public areas, while the upper level is designated for private spaces. Construction was carried out in a wooden workshop, enabling efficient assembly, minimal environmental impact, and cost savings. This house is a tranquil sanctuary where architecture and nature blend harmoniously.
The house is situated in the suburbs of Peruco, within the Metropolitan Region of Quito. It was designed as a retreat from city life, allowing owners to feel in harmony with nature among mountains and vegetation.
The design emphasizes strengthening the visual connection with nature and achieving a sense of calm and comfort within the home. We chose to incorporate mountain views through the western facade windows, while ensuring privacy from neighbors and passersby on the adjacent street via a continuous brick cladding that starts from the southern facade, transitions to the roof, and ends at the northern facade of the project.
The first floor layout is designed for common areas including a kitchen, living room, dining area, bathroom, and covered terrace space. The upper floor is reserved for private areas such as a bedroom, workspace, guest room, and bathroom.
A simple prefabricated wooden structure built in a workshop allows for efficient assembly, minimizes environmental impact, and reduces transportation and on-site construction costs.
