Özlenir Headquarter: Bold Vision by URBANJOBS for Modern Office Spaces
At the heart of Istanbul, the renowned design studio URBANJOBS brought to life an extraordinary office space for the textile giant Özlenir Group. Named Özlenir Headquarter, this 3500 sqm project transforms the first floor of a residential building into an architectural statement—balancing minimalism, functionality, and expressive form.
Philosophy of Clean Desk Based on Design Discipline
URBANJOBS approached the project with a strategic vision: to implement the 'clean desk policy', ensuring that the workspace remains uncluttered and visually simplified. No personal items, monitors, or stationery clutter the view—thanks to masterful integration of fixed and mobile furniture. Every item, including table surfaces and shelving, was specially developed for URBANJOBS in accordance with this concept.
Material Harmony and Light Refraction
The design concept is based on linear clarity, light control, and material interaction. Reflective surfaces amplify natural light and create depth, while warm wood tones and natural textures soften the perception. URBANJOBS orchestrates a dialogue between steel, chrome, mirrors, and wood—achieving a bold yet cozy interior.
Chrome elements on the edges of tables and shelves add structural definition and lightness. These reflective materials enhance spatial dynamics, emphasizing strength—the contrast that demonstrates URBANJOBS' philosophy of duality in design.
The material palette used in Özlenir Headquarter reflects a carefully considered blend of industrial sophistication and natural warmth. URBANJOBS employed a combination of chrome, mirror surfaces, natural wood, and textured wall panels to create an elegant, layered interior. Mirror materials were intelligently used to amplify light distribution and spatial depth, while chrome finishes on shelves and tables provided a sense of structural precision and elegance. Warmth was added through wooden elements, including the distinctive identity wall in the reception area, subtly evoking textile textures and reflecting the client's industry. This juxtaposition of reflective and tactile materials reinforces the minimalist concept of the office while maintaining a welcoming, human-centered atmosphere.
Geometry Meets Softness
Sharp geometric volumes and smooth form transitions shape the spatial experience. Reflective surfaces refract light throughout the open plan, while soft textures create tactile warmth. This contrast gives Özlenir Headquarter its distinctive look—elegant yet cozy.
Space organization flows easily around furniture that is not only functional but also purposeful. These fixed masses subtly guide movement through the office, ensuring a smooth and harmonious layout.
Reception Zone Speaking to Authentic Identity
The entrance to the headquarters defies traditional expectations. There is no explicit logo or mark—only a ‘identity wall’, made of wooden panels resembling woven fabrics. This modest declaration connects with the client's textile roots while harmonizing with the refined office atmosphere.
On either side of the wall are two hidden doors leading to restrooms and a kitchen. Nearby is a 15-person conference room elevated with access from all four sides—a functional centerpiece that showcases URBANJOBS' expertise in space organization.
Custom Furniture as Architectural Elements
Following URBANJOBS' approach to holistic design, all furniture—except office chairs—was custom-designed. From tables and shelves to even door handles, each component was created specifically for this project—inspired by ideas of small office solutions that maximize spatial efficiency without sacrificing style. This elevated the office from a workspace to a curated architectural experience.
Design Philosophy: Layering and Functionality
This project underscores URBANJOBS' key principle: material layering as a design mechanism. Instead of sharp contrasts, the team used composition that allows different materials to coexist harmoniously. Functionality guides aesthetics, and vice versa.
Through careful coordination of color, texture, and form, URBANJOBS achieved an elegant rhythm within the space. Each element contributes to the whole without overwhelming others—creating a space that is intuitively navigable and inspiring for life.
Lighting Shaping the Experience
URBANJOBS also led the lighting design, using directed light and reflection to create a layered perception of space. Whether it's subtle accent lighting along furniture edges or the interaction between mirrors and light sources, each glow serves a purpose.
In areas such as the conference room and corridors, indirect lighting enhances spatial volume and fosters a calm atmosphere. It's not just illumination—it’s an experience design.
A Model for Future Office Design
Özlenir Headquarter is more than an office—it's a model of what future workspaces can be, combining the best of luxury and minimalist office design with functional intelligence and spatial fluidity. It reflects the synergy between brand identity and architectural storytelling, embodied through individual detailing and visionary spatial planning.
