Nebula House by FGMF
The Nebula House is an impressive modern home designed by FGMF. Located in the countryside of São Paulo, Brazil, it offers stunning views of the Itatiba Valley. The elegant contemporary design, as expected from this studio, at least based on what we've seen in other projects such as the Cigarra House, Grid House, Mirante House, Cafezal House and Botucatu House.
The award-winning architectural firm FGMF Architects, based in São Paulo, has designed the Nebula House project. This house is a composition of volumes designed with solar orientation and magnificent views of the Itatiba Valley in the countryside of São Paulo, Brazil. The breathtaking views, privacy needs, street distance and desire to integrate the house with gardens became the main elements of the volumetric concept.
The volumetric concept featuring various sizes and heights for rooms, bathroom, office, garage and stairs is a formal approach. However, construction demonstrates programmatic zoning. These volumes sometimes rest on the ground and sometimes float above a large front garden, concealing the social area of the house. The subtle concrete structure with cantilevers enhances the visual approach to the program. The resulting glass living room is visually integrated with a large pool, yet far enough to ensure year-round solar light penetration.
Service areas are partially hidden in a specific section with a green roof, blending into the landscape and acting as a kind of fence. This created a platform hidden from public view. The living room was designed here, with the glass part emerging from upper volumes.
A covered and secluded relaxation area, the remaining plastic form hovers above the water mirror toward this stunning view.
