MUSHI Wedding Photography Space by Cun FF in Kunming, China
Before the invention of the camera, artists played the role of photographers, using their brushes to capture the texture of objects, light and shadow, as well as the moment when people fall in love… Among them was Marc Chagall, a world-famous Russian-French and Jewish artist who used his brush to create a beautiful and fairy-tale world where his wife and hometown would always be present. "Love" was one of the themes that constantly appeared in Marc Chagall's paintings.

In this project, Cun FF uses Marc Chagall's paintings as inspiration, revealing a multidimensional exploration of the brand space. Through dramatic colors, reworked three-dimensional composition of space, and functional separation of different business models, the design achieves maximum interaction and connection between art and commerce.
Picasso once said: "When Matisse dies, Chagall will be the only artist who truly understands what color is."
In Chagall's works such as "Lovers on a Blue Ass," "The Violet Rooster," and "Lovers in the Sky of Ice," his wife Bella is always surrounded by shades of blue, so some say that the wonder of blue in Chagall's long-lasting love for his wife Bella is a true miracle.

When designing the MUSHI Wedding Photography Art Space, Cun FF expected that this space should include sweetness and romance for couples.
Therefore, a pure and dreamy blue was chosen as the main tone of the space. As the visual color of MUSHI Photography, blue is applied on different materials.
To achieve the perfect shade of blue across various materials, the color selection process went through many changes. After more than 20 trial samples, when the designer was about to give up, the most ideal shade finally emerged.
Blue spherical installation, blue staircase railings and blue glass wall… all these blues remind of Chagall's blue, full of boundless and infinitely flowing love.

Three-Dimensionality
Like Marc Chagall, who absorbed the unique concept of cubism under Picasso's guidance and transformed it into his own unique artistic language, this space uses bold colors and three-dimensional geometry to form a unique painting language expressing beautiful ideas and images.
Using the original ceiling height, the designer transformed the entire lounge area into a three-dimensional space reflected through mirrors, creating an impression of spatial transparency.

Frozen Frame
Wanting to preserve the moment, Rabih asked them to take a photo together, then he placed the camera on a stone and ran into frame. He knew that perfect happiness comes gradually, perhaps no more than five minutes at a time. So people should hold it with both hands and cherish it.
— The Love Course, written by Alan de Botton

Whether it's Bresson’s “decisive moment” or Wang Yao’s “special moment,” both photographic theories emphasize the importance of a frozen frame. The space created by Cun FF is designed to help photographers capture beautiful moments of guests.
Unlike a typical photo space, Cun FF integrated eight different functions: art gallery, wedding dresses, men's styling, commercial studio, fitting room, jewelry workshop, four-dimensional reception area and office zone in a 3000 sq ft project where an ideal balance between artistic perception and functionality was achieved.

It should be noted that within this 3000 sq ft space, there is an exclusive men’s styling area with hair washing and haircutting functions allowing professional stylists to create the perfect look for men.
All these carefully designed functional solutions not only make it easier for photographers to capture the best moments of guests but also expand the range of services offered by this space, strengthening MUSHI's marketing. Even if visitors are not clients, they can learn about the MUSHI brand through an art exhibition or a cup of afternoon tea, which may be the biggest conversion flow brought by this space design.
In September 2017, the MUSHI brand first appeared publicly; in 2021, the updated MUSHI gained significant influence in Yunnan's industry. The complex yet easily recognizable design of the space brought growth potential and opportunities, thus achieving a win-win situation for all parties.
