Murano Grande Residence by Sire Design

Located in Miami Beach, Florida, the owner of this luxurious 4,000 square foot cottage approached Sire Design to improve the home's layout and transform it into a family-friendly space. Although converting a three-bedroom apartment into a four-bedroom with an expanded living area was no small task, the resulting design is simple and elegant with eye-catching elements throughout the space.

Employing an elegant minimalist approach, light neutral tones such as bone and beige contrast with black and dark blue. The combination of materials including soft fabrics, bright wood tones, and durable marble, along with furniture from Roche Bobois, Haute Living, and Kreon, further emphasizes the color contrast. To complement Florida's beautiful weather, the design team also selected soft and warm neutral tones for the apartment's walls and floors. Large furniture pieces and geometric paintings in darker shades keep the space grounded, while individual furniture and flooring throughout the apartment create a cohesive and cozy atmosphere.

With thoughtful spatial planning, Sire Design transformed the apartment by adding an additional bedroom and a large living room. The team also repositioned the open kitchen to offer views of stunning bayside landscapes. What was once a small kitchen is now an expanded space with a dining area for guests and family. Sire Design also added a custom marble bar in the living room for additional entertainment space. Considering that five children of the owner visit the house alternately, it was important to make three secondary bedrooms and the living room adaptable to all changing family needs. The furniture chosen for the living room helps it transform from a recreational area into a fifth bedroom when needed. To avoid making the apartment too closed-off and accommodate the low ceiling, the design team used low-profile lighting from Apure.

With extensive experience in luxury residential interiors, Sire Design added timeless and classic elements to the home, making it not only functional for the entire family but also stylish.
