Multi-family House by Sonia Cruz Arquitectura

The S.Roque building is located in the expected and expanding part of the city of Aveiro. Its location is defined by proximity to one of the Rio de Aveiro channels – the S.Roque channel, which is a local symbol and can be used for walks, sports and recreation.

This recently urbanized area is characterized by recent interventions not tied to local features. In this context, the building aims to establish a neutral dialogue with its surroundings, expressing a clean and technical language.

A portion of the site was limited by area and urban parameters established at this location. The underground level is for parking, while the 5 floors are for housing. The presented typologies: 3T2, 5 T3 and 1T3 meet standard housing programs aimed at families.

The challenge for the building was to comply with regulations and strive to enhance the place. Glass balconies allow enjoyment of the location and its surroundings, becoming external extensions of living spaces.

Interiors express a simple but high-quality language, neutral to any aesthetic standards and lifestyles. Materials are sourced from local suppliers, meet high quality standards and create a consistent and harmonious picture throughout.

The building and its interiors positively respond to the expectations of modern life, valuing the connection between interior and exterior parts of the building, as well as enhancing relationships with surrounding buildings.
