6 autumn exhibitions 2017 you need to know as a designer

September marks the beginning of a design marathon, traditionally kicked off by the Parisian exhibition Maison & Objet. After that, you can travel the world for two months, moving from one country to another.

Maison & Objet, Dutch Design Week, 100% Design in London, High Point market in North Carolina, International Design Week in Guangzhou and furniture fair in Shanghai – it would be great to be everywhere, but you have to make a choice.

1. Maison & Objet

An international salon for interior design, decorative objects and gifts. It is considered that it sets trends for the next few years. At the same time, Paris Design Week takes place – presentations, festivals, shows that provide inspiration and energy necessary for creativity. Moreover, here you can meet all the right people.

When: from September 8 to 12

2. China International Furniture Fair

Not every bird flies to Shanghai, but if it does, it won’t regret. There are reasons to believe that the future is here, in Asia, and some of what we all will see soon can be seen at the International Furniture Fair (CIFF). The city is also great, especially the old part.

When: from September 12 to 15

3. 100% Design London

The name speaks for itself: in London during these four days you can see everything trendy, cutting-edge and conceptual. Participants of the fair are graduates from British design schools, but it is not only English people. At the same time, the London Design Festival takes place, where Design Awards in various categories are presented.

When: from September 20 to 23

4. iSaloni WorldWide Moscow

Built on the model of Milan furniture salon, Moscow exhibition has long become an event that people connected to the industry try not to miss. One of the most interesting events is the competition for young designers SaloneSatellite. The winner gets a trip to Milan and a chance to step onto the international level. 

When: from October 11 to 14

5. High Point market

Twice a year in North Carolina, an exhibition gathers all professionals in the interior business. In 4 days you can get to know the American market, see new collections by Hella Hippchen and Barbara Barry, admire experiments by American furniture companies that attract not only architects but also leading TV show hosts and other media figures. 

When: from October 14 to 18

6. Dutch Design Week

Holland’s Eindhoven, once a major industrial center that fell into decline in the 90s, has risen again like a phoenix and became quite quickly the world capital of the most rebellious design. The Dutch Design Week gathers crowds of professionals and just people who believe that design is fun. 

When: from October 21 to 29 

Who is interested: those who are passionate about design and contemporary art
