Designed as a beach house on the Atlantic coast of Argentina, the L-shaped home was intended exclusively for beach use. However, the building constructed by architects from Estudio PKa exceeded all expectations of the owners and became a permanent family residence.
The interior and exterior spaces flow seamlessly into one another. The house is surrounded by coniferous trees, and the north facade, facing the forest, is almost entirely filled with windows from floor to ceiling, bringing the surrounding landscape inside. The site is uneven, and the design takes this into account: the entrance area is raised half a meter above ground level, while the opposite side of the building is nestled into the hill.
The structure uses simple yet noble materials—concrete and wood. The three-meter central entrance door, clad in tropical wood, adds warmth to this strict architectural form. The building's architecture features a clear contrast between dark exteriors and bright interiors. Quiet courtyards, along with the constant sound of the sea, create an atmosphere of rest and tranquility.
This home has given its owners everything that is impossible to find in a bustling and noisy city: peaceful views of the coniferous forest, the sound of the sea, opportunities for focused reading and meditation. The main hall, facing the forest, has become the favorite gathering place for the whole family.
