House in Israel: transparency of the impenetrable
House in Israel: transparency of the impenetrable

A private residence built by Pitsou Kedem Architects with a total area of 700 square meters fully embodies the saying "My home is my fortress". The architects based their concept on the image of an ancient Egyptian temple, where those dedicated had to pass through a series of courtyards and spaces, gradually approaching the sacred goal.
Although the façade facing the street appears as an impenetrable mass and seems to hide a mysterious secret, crossing the wooden "gazebo" line reveals the house's spaces in their simplicity. This contrast between external impenetrability and internal transparency forms the core of the architectural concept. The building's geometry is simple, minimalist, and pure in its forms and materials.
Another inner courtyard, just like the glass pool fence, pushes the feeling of intimacy in private space to its limits, where each person is free to define the boundaries of what is allowed and possible.
