House for Family Vacation in the Italian Alps
House for family vacation in the mountains was designed by the architectural firm Rudolf Perathoner Architects. Located not far from the mountain village of Selva di Val Gardena (Italy), it is distinguished above all by its surrounding environment, which literally takes your breath away. It's no surprise that the architects chose a chalet style and used larch wood as the main construction and finishing material, complemented with concrete, glass, and stone.
Combining nature and interior became a priority. Large windows offer residents breathtaking views of the mountains, just within reach. The layout of the living space is split into two floors due to the natural slope of the land. The form of the house draws inspiration from traditional architecture in this region, while a series of energy-efficient solutions make the project modern and fully compliant with the client's requirements.
