New House on the Site of the Old Building in Düsseldorf
The House K project by Architekten Wannenmacher + Möller GmbH presents a private house in Düsseldorf, Germany. It was built in the central district on the Rhine shore in 1935–1936 as part of the White Estate settlement, consisting of 95 white brick houses created by nationalists-socialists as a symbolic complex for the 'productive population.' Over time, the homeowners found the existing space insufficient, and the old residence gave way to a new mansion. Despite strict land-use regulations, architects managed to double the useful area by optimizing spatial organization.
