Apartment in the Gothic Quarter of Barcelona
Project studio AAGF arquitectura has designed the interior of an apartment in the historical district of Barcelona, Spain. Located in the Gothic Quarter, the residence featured high ceilings with wooden beams, as well as a layout divided into small rooms with dark corridors. While the ceilings were not only preserved but also used as a key element of the interior design, the layout posed one of the main challenges to be solved.
Reconfiguration and white walls made the residence brighter and visually more spacious. Against such a backdrop of whiteness, wooden details and preserved elements of brick and stone walls stand out beautifully. The floor features parquet, tiles, and mosaics that blend with marble countertops, a white glossy cabinet, and elegant furniture upholstery. Warm yellow lighting floods the rooms in gold. The apartment looks simultaneously stylish and cozy, without losing the charm of past decades.
