Previously never used as living space, the attic of a multi-apartment house from the end of the nineteenth century in Poznan, Poland, was renovated by CUNS studio. The resulting comfortable and elegant loft of 130 square meters includes two living rooms, two bedrooms, and two bathrooms.
The spacious and bright open-plan kitchen, combined with the living room, serves as a connecting element between the private relaxation area of the owners and the guest half. The large kitchen island and ceiling-hung hammocks make it a perfect place not only for cooking but also for shared relaxation. The preserved original brickwork along the back wall emphasizes the length of the apartment. The second living room is located away from the main room, yet it does not seem separated from it. It's a great place to sit with friends or just watch television. In addition to the shared bathroom and toilet, the main bedroom features a standalone bathtub recessed into a bay window, as well as an adjacent toilet and shower.
The floor covering combines pine wood and very dark ceramic tile with an interesting uneven surface. The combination of warm browns and bright whites in the color palette makes the interior particularly appealing.
