Focus on All Decoration Trends to Follow in 2022
After a semi-empty year in 2021, when the French spent time between quarantine, night mode and excellent seasonality in full freedom, 2022 also promises to be full of surprises, not to mention uncertainty... The world of decoration cannot escape uncertain events. Events that define, inspire and refresh the creative world.
Decoration trends 2022 reflect the spirit of this time in seeking lightness and freedom. They reflect a desire for renewal and fantasy in interiors. It is even a necessity to counteract external gloom. Far from the refined wisdom of Scandinavian decoration, which was in vogue at the dawn of the 21st century, the 2020s are beginning to show sometimes very contradictory desires and want to reconnect again with the eccentricity of well-thought-out past decades. Between a surge in vivid and shimmering colors, alongside raw materials, the spread of organic forms and growing environmental responsibility, the decorative world asserts its high necessity in adorning everyday news, overturned by events.
Popular Colors in 2022
PinterestCapable of defining an interior, conveying mood or confirming style, colors have never been so active in interiors. They are easiest to perceive on walls or in small accents on bedding, but they skillfully spread their energy to furniture. Designer green sofa, crimson screen, terracotta dining table... In 2022, colored furniture confirms its growth.
Color trends 2022 announce a new and invigorating color palette, distancing themselves from neutral and pastel shades that dominated decoration just a few seasons ago. At the head of this group are brown, terracotta, crimson red, and orange. Colors with strong identity and energetic characters, which borrow heavily from (once again) fashionable decorative styles: art deco and the seventies.
Another shade, however, comes with the intention of refining these preferences for colors with strong ambitions. The Pantone Color Institute, a global color expert, selected a more moderate but no less whimsical shade, announcing PANTONE 17-3938 Very Peri as the color of 2022. Blue, seemingly very wise, but thanks to its proximity to violet confirms the use of color as a lively and joyful resource, encouraging bold creativity and imaginative expression.
