Fluffy Bathroom Mat

Almost every home has high humidity in the bathroom.

Usually, this is due to poor ventilation and leads to mold growing on the walls, making it necessary to wash and dry mats quite frequently. While the mat is drying, cold and slippery tiles are under everyone's feet.

Therefore, today we suggest making a backup bathroom mat. Some people might like it so much that it becomes permanent.

As always, it doesn't require much time or money. So, here's what we need:

  • main fabric (any dense one, we used linen)
  • knitwear (can be new or used, for example a t-shirt)
  • scissors
  • tape
  • sewing machine.

First, cut the knitwear into thin strips, about one and a half centimeters wide.

Then cut them along the length. Our length is 10 cm. The next step is stitching on the main dense fabric. Our mat is 70x70 cm.

Sew it on as shown in the photo. Strips must be sewn every 3-4 cm.

To make sewing easier, we glued double-sided tape onto the main fabric and then placed the knitwear strips on top.

Sew between the tape strips with a machine. It serves two functions: it guides the stitching and prevents the strips from spreading.

That's it! The fluffy bathroom mat is ready in no time! It not only looks nice, but also dries quickly and efficiently absorbs moisture. Most importantly, it is unique!
