Brickly Affair Stone House by Greyscale Design Studio
The Brickly Affair Stone House is a stunning modern home located in Bangalore, India. This beautiful house has 3,500 square feet divided into three floors with an open layout. As the project name suggests, the design uses brick as a key element in the form of diagonal bricklaying that shapes the facade.

It was a pleasure to design for active clients Sushma and Shrinidhi, who have their own vision of how they want their home to look. They wanted the language of raw materials to speak in their house. The emphasis was placed on maximum beauty of each raw material and allowing it to express itself.
The diagonal bricklaying forms the house facade. This not only creates a beautiful exterior but also brings the outside world indoors during the day and showcases light play inside at night. Interiors are created using concrete, soft steel, wood, and terracotta. All these materials interact very well with each other and flawlessly convey their beauty to one another.

The central element of the house is an open kitchen that opens to a garden on one side and an internal green courtyard on the other. The kitchen cabinet is designed so that it expands into a dining table, and the whole family spends most of their day there.
The house has three levels. The first is for interaction, the second is a parents and children living area, the third is for elderly residence, along with two terraces for relaxed evenings. Rainwater harvesting and composting requirements were also taken into account. Lattice windows open to the central courtyard, offering views of well-grown greenery and sounds of flowing water.
