New Year: decorating with aroma
All this is clear and obvious. But there is another indispensable element that plays an important role in creating a festive atmosphere. You know what I'm talking about? No, you're wrong, not an olivier tub.
I'm talking about aroma. Yes, the scent in the house can also help create a holiday atmosphere. We will discuss how and from what you can make aromatic compositions, and you will be able to choose which one suits your family and your nose best.

Photo 1 – Chocolate always delights the eye and taste
Of course, there are simple options like aromalamps or essential oils. Or burning incense, although the scent from them is quite specific. But let's look at more interesting options.
Citrus notes will bring freshness and vibrant colors
First option – citrus. Buy various citrus fruits – oranges, grapefruits, mandarins, lemons – and arrange all this fragrant beauty in nice vases or baskets. Fruits will delight not only the eyes and nose but also the taste. Bright colors lift your mood, and the essential oils in the peels – strengthen the body and improve metabolism.

Photo 2 – Essential oils can both energize and reduce stress
Coffee, chocolate and natural fir lovers will appreciate!
The next option is for coffee and spice lovers. Again, arrange the coffee beans, cinnamon sticks, cloves, and nuts in pretty vases. A pleasant and invigorating scent will let you stay up longer during the holiday night. Not to mention drinks made from these ingredients.
Fir scent – the most festive and New Yearly scent. And by the way, fir also contains essential oils that benefit the body. Even if you decide to do without a real Christmas tree or even without one at all, please treat yourself and your loved ones to fir scent using fir branches.

The sweet option – chocolate. A cup of hot chocolate on New Year's night will be a wonderful addition and warm you up. But even the scent of chocolate in the room will quickly lift your mood, even for the gloomiest people, as it contains so-called happiness hormone.

Herbal aromas should not be overlooked
By the way, you shouldn't discard the essential oils option. Many scents can set the mood for an active and joyful celebration or help you relax and relieve stress. For example, rosemary will give you the opportunity to celebrate until morning, geranium will calm you down but at the same time boost your mood. Chamomile, lavender and valerian will reduce stress, give a sense of comfort and peace. Everything depends on your desires and plans for the New Year night.

Make it yourself
And a couple more aromatic blends:
Take a regular pot and a liter of water. Add a pinch of cinnamon, a quarter of a tablespoon of cloves, half a teaspoon each of ground orange and lemon, and 3 bay leaves. Bring everything to a boil. Pour the mixture into nice containers and place floating candles in them – the scent will be felt all night due to heat.
Another option made from cinnamon, ginger root, orange peels, and nuts. Add a couple of tablespoons of violet root, 10-15 drops of orange essential oil, and the same amount of clove oil to this mixture. Press the blend into molds and arrange them around your apartment. Now you're ready for the arrival of the New Year!
