What kind of New Year would it be without beautiful light sources? Whether it's lamps, garlands, or candles, you can approach their decoration with imagination and originality. In that case, your home will not only be illuminated but also filled with a fairy-tale and romantic atmosphere. Of course, the main source of light during the holiday are colorful garlands and candles. Let's take a look at how you can decorate them yourself.

Adding a Bit of Romance
First of all, let's consider candle decoration ideas. As we all know, candles come in various colors, shapes, and sizes. Therefore, decoration ideas will differ slightly.
If you have long white candles in reserve, you can combine them with Christmas ornaments, decorate them with greenery or winter berries. Candles of different sizes also look great. For this, you can simply trim some candles. These candles will look great in tall glass forms. You can place more than one candle in them, tying them up with beautiful ribbons.

If your candles are not very tall or wide, you can create interesting "packaging" from paper, decorating them with New Year images (just remember not to place paper too close to fire for safety reasons) or fabric. A good idea is to arrange candles in glass forms and glasses. Glass can be decorated both inside and outside, depending on your imagination. Here you can use paints, berries, greenery, toys, and simple glass stickers. These same candles can also be decorated not only beautifully but also with a pleasant scent – for example, cinnamon sticks or coffee beans. The warmth of the candles will fill the room with delicious aromas. You can also arrange candles on a tray or something similar, and surround them with mandarins, nuts, herbs, spices, and sweets.

If you want more color, choose colored candles in a New Year color scheme (green and red, silver and gold, gold and purple, silver and blue, white and gold).
There is a great deal of space for imagination with tea candles (also known as floating candles). They can be combined in the most interesting ways. For example, arrange them in a row or geometrically shaped figures. To justify their name, you can let them float in glasses, tumblers, and other beautiful forms. These same forms can be filled with spices, coffee beans, pine branches, berries, and placed tea candles in them. Then the candles will not only provide light but also fragrance.

Lighting for Every Home
Besides simple candle decoration, you can make small lanterns yourself. This can be done using regular lamps, garlands, or already mentioned candles.
Candles can be placed in a glass container and then painted with stained glass paints on both the inside and outside. The downside of candles is that they will eventually burn out, and there is a higher risk of fire. Another option with candles – salt lanterns. Coat a glass tumbler with glue on both the inside and outside. Then roll it in sea salt and place a floating candle inside.

Convenient and relatively safe options with garlands. For example, take two metal rings, stretch a thin fabric between them, and distribute the garland inside the resulting cylinder.
Another interesting and beautiful variant – a fireless campfire. Take several sticks, wrap them in foil, and glue lace on top. Once the glue dries, detach the frames from the sticks and foil – these will be our logs. Build a campfire from them, and instead of fire, place a white-light garland. For authenticity, you can cover the campfire with stones.
