Apartment with meticulous decoration that gives an ideal home

Decorating an apartment with a complex layout is not so simple, and although a rectangle generally means a straightforward arrangement, in practice it's not that easy. Some of our grandmothers and grandfathers lived in apartments very similar to this one, so we know well that decorating the interior and styling a home of this type is quite challenging if you want to do it with taste and comfort. At first, this was the ground floor interior; all windows open onto an inner courtyard between buildings, so natural light is limited and it seems like there's mostly diffused lighting. This also means the environment will be cooler, thus increasing energy consumption for air conditioning.

The layout is an elongated rectangle with rooms arranged in a row — one after another, and the bathroom is located at the entrance, i.e., on the opposite end from the bedrooms. So we can say that the distribution is not very convenient or functional. But given that it's an 84 square meter apartment, this isn't a huge place where you have to cover large distances.

Despite the drawbacks of insufficient light and quirky layout, the owners managed to decorate their home tastefully — practically, modernly, and comfortably. They chose a minimalist Scandinavian style in neutral colors leaning towards darker tones, giving the house an atmosphere of mystery.

They could have chosen more white and/or bright, cheerful colors in accessories and so on, but no — they preferred romance offered by muted tones while maintaining a darker ambiance. What do you think about the layout? And decoration? Would you like to live here? We like the design, but we have to say that we wouldn't live here due to lack of natural light.
