MOUNTAIN HOUSE PREPARED FOR CHRISTMAS EVE
PinterestThis family home exudes rustic mountain cabin appeal thanks to its wooden construction, sloped floors, and stunning panoramas.
As for the layout, you can enter the living area with three bedrooms and two bathrooms from the hall where the elevator is located. The common areas are on the first floor and include a kitchen open to the living room and dining area, which is at the back and has a spacious terrace. Since this is a mountain house, Martha chose a simple design with lots of wood.
The most important intervention was convincing the owners that the oak ceiling needed to be removed in a pearl gray tone. Indeed, this makes a difference between before and after. The interior designer suggested painting the walls the same color as the ceiling to give the house more light and visual amplitude. The owners fell in love with her carefully crafted project due to her persistence and enormous persuasiveness. Similarly, the interior designer decided to place an interesting oak wooden flooring throughout the house to connect all spaces and convey a sense of warmth.
PinterestLarge windows and stunning views were necessary. To take advantage of light, sun, and the terrace, they decided to place the common areas on the lower level of this floor. As a result, the living room and dining area are connected, with a fireplace that depending on perspective either divides or unites the two rooms with warmth. The idea of the kitchen as an open space where you can enjoy family, friends and beautiful surroundings while cooking was developed with the same hedonistic philosophy.
The bed in the master bedroom is located in a special spot where you can observe the stars while sleeping, and the children's attic room with three iron beds seems plucked right out of a fairy tale. The rustic look of the house, that unique style of mountain homes which is so pleasant and cozy, was defined by a careful choice of neutral tones, natural materials such as wood and fibers, as well as simple furniture.
