7.15 GYM by Beril Khalaf Interiors

The 7.15 GYM fitness space was designed by Beril Khalaf Interiors, founded in Istanbul, with the aim of creating a sturdy structure and utilizing sustainable design elements for long-term use.

The idea behind 7.15 GYM came from the desire to combine online streaming, personal training and a fitness space. Three close friends who wanted to share their lifestyle through workouts and exercises began with an online platform broadcasting live sessions and offering fitness classes and personal training in various regions of Turkey, such as parks and backyards. They then transitioned to a physical presence, with the design concept formed based on the connection between these three friends.

The inspiration for this design concept came from the fact that the owners are three close friends. Therefore, the design focused on the number three as a central element desired in the overall look. Beril Khalaf Interiors aimed to create different angles for trainer filming from all sides. Unlike a classic gym, this space was designed as an exhibition stage with a studio concept where every point can be used for recording. Textures, colors and lighting were chosen to align with both the streaming concept and brand identity.

Perspective mirrors were installed on all walls to expand this small space and create an infinite number of human figures from one angle. The designer created a corner supporting the idea of three friends, with a concept forming strength through layers with different textures but remaining unified as one whole, emphasizing the number three.

Beril Khalaf Interiors used a decorative brown stucco finish on the walls to give an unfinished and rough appearance. Epoxy mixture was used for the floor, while rubber flooring was applied in the workout zone for durability, comfort and control during exercises. At the entrance, Beril Khalaf Interiors designed a small merchandise showcase in the form of a mini-store inside the gym. In addition to the store, a changing room was designed in the same brand style where people can leave their belongings during workouts.

On the mezzanine level are two showers, one restroom and an office. The office includes a relaxation area where trainers can unwind between sessions, a small kitchen and a meeting table. Overall, the design idea is to create a raw structure, enhance space with sustainable design elements to make it usable for years as the main hub of a new brand.

The combination of an exhibition stage and a filming studio created for streaming and personal training is based on the concept of three close friends made from raw materials. Therefore, the stage area has three corners for video recording with various lighting points and backgrounds. This space also includes a brand merchandise display area, a changing room section based on the brand concept, real gym facilities and a break zone with an office for trainer meetings.
