This kitchen in a two-room Khrushchyovka was arranged by Nastassya Dolenko for herself and her teenage daughter. The main task was to preserve the historical value of the apartment while creating a modern and functional interior.

To make the space more functional, the kitchen door was moved to another wall. Thanks to thoughtful and well-planned solutions, a kitchen of only 6 sq m became stylish and very convenient.

The window between the bathroom and kitchen was left as is and slightly widened, decorated with glass blocks. The grout was chosen to match the tile on the backsplash. As a ceramicist, Nastassya made the backsplash tile herself and painted it — the tile looks very stylish and even resembles Italian.

They opted out of upper cabinets, installing only a shelf on one wall to visually lighten the space. There's enough storage in the lower sections. Nastassya painted the range hood, refrigerator and washing machine to match the cabinet color, giving the kitchen a unified style.

Instead of a traditional dining table, they installed a bar counter: the countertop was extended onto the windowsill, creating additional workspace and dining area.

As a result, the kitchen turned into a cozy place where comfort and aesthetics blend together.
