How to Make a Functional 5 m² Hallway with an Unusual Shape
We are inspired and take note of interesting solutions
Working on this project for designer Olga Dubrovskaya was not easy: the apartment has a complex layout with many curved walls. In addition, the clients decided to keep the original layout, which complicated the task. Nevertheless, with the right choice of colors and careful organization of space, Olga transformed the interior into cozy and functional housing. We show what the hallway looks like.

As soon as you enter the apartment, attention is drawn to bright colors. The walls are finished in a blue-green shade that pairs perfectly with the blue front door. Such a color combination creates a feeling of freshness and depth, which automatically expands the visual perception of the room.

Against such vibrant walls, an orange shallow wardrobe stands out, occupying the entire wall. It is quite functional: it allows for convenient storage of everyday upper clothing. Moreover, this wardrobe is divided into sections that help organize the storage of household items such as a vacuum cleaner, ironing board, and mop.

The hallway also features a load-bearing column, which could have spoiled the overall perception of the interior. However, the designer managed to incorporate this element into the design. A wardrobe was installed next to the column, and the surrounding space is made of cork material. Using pushpins, posters, photos, and notes can be easily attached to it, allowing residents to add a touch of their personal identity to the hallway.

A stylish and unique accent is a bright Morris motif tapestry pouf. It serves as a seating area, adds brightness and coziness to the interior. Next to the front door is a neon sign that becomes a nightlight in the evening, creating warm and comfortable lighting.

This hallway became an example of how to overcome layout limitations and create a stylish, functional, and cozy space. Using a combination of color, thoughtful details, and innovative solutions, the designer turned a complex configuration into a harmonious and practical place that delights the eye and is convenient for everyday life.
