Maximum Color: How a Designer Decorated a Small Kitchen in a 32 m² Studio
In the compact studio, it was possible to create a functional kitchen that looks bright and does not overload the space
Decorating a kitchen in a small studio is not an easy task. It's important not only to place the appliances but also to make sure that the kitchen unit fits into the space and doesn't clash with the decor.
Designer Julia Pozdnjak did an excellent job: in the 32 m² apartment project, she designed a minimalist yet expressive kitchen area in a green-gray palette with accents of natural wood.

The area allocated for the kitchen is small. However, thanks to built-in furniture and smart appliance placement, the working surface was freed up. All large appliances are hidden in a separate cabinet on the opposite wall, and only the cooktop, sink, and dishwasher are installed in the kitchen unit.
Design: Julia PozdnjakThe cabinet doors are made in a matte eucalyptus color, which became the key tone of the entire apartment. It harmonizes with the warm wood tone in the lower part and a large-format gray apron imitating natural stone. The solution makes the kitchen look cohesive and avoids any feeling of a separate work zone in the living space.
Design: Julia PozdnjakThe dining area is a sleek black table with a round countertop and two bright yellow chairs. Thanks to their vivid color, they work as accents and make the interior feel sunny. If needed, the chairs can be moved to the sofa — a flexible solution convenient for hosting guests.
Design: Julia PozdnjakDespite the restrained palette, the kitchen does not look dull: the designer actively worked with textures and contrasts. The matte green complements the wood texture, while the smooth apron surface adds a sense of strictness. Accent items such as wall decor in the shape of lips and a floral arrangement on the center of the table highlight the owner's individuality and add lightness.
Design: Julia PozdnjakAs a result, a vibrant, convenient, and modern kitchen was created where every centimeter is thought out. It not only performs its functions but also fits harmoniously into the studio space.
