Before and After: Cozy 4.5 sqm Bathroom with Thoughtful Storage
This stylish design will surely bring a dose of inspiration
Our heroine Ksenia personally decorated a beautiful 'cotton candy' bathroom in her two-room Brezhnev-era apartment. Before the renovation, the bathroom and toilet were separate. It was necessary to completely transform the 'worn-out' interior, create a modern atmosphere and find space for a washing machine. As part of the reconfiguration, the bathroom was combined with the toilet, and its area became 4.5 sqm.

Originally, the apartment had two tiny bathrooms. The small toilet contained only a toilet. In the second section — a bathtub and a small sink.

After the renovation, the bathroom and toilet were combined and borrowed space from the former hallway, making the room feel slightly more spacious. Part of the walls were painted in a soft pink tone, while others were tiled. The floor was laid with the same tiles as in the hallway and kitchen, and a 'warm floor' system was installed.

During the demolition of the old finishing, a window between the kitchen and bathroom was discovered. It was slightly enlarged and beautifully decorated. During the day, sunlight enters the bathroom, while in the evening the opening can serve as a nightlight and provide atmospheric lighting.

They abandoned the bathtub and installed a convenient shower instead. This made it possible to place a washing machine and storage system. Ksenia's cabinets were designed by a designer. On the side of the washing machine, they store towels and household chemicals, while on the sink side — cosmetics and hygiene products. Behind the roller shutter door above the installation, communications are hidden and additional storage is provided.
