How to Budget-Friendly Update Kitchen Interior: 6 Worthwhile Ideas

In this cozy studio, artist and blogger Dasha Titova lives with her husband. The couple did the renovation themselves and stayed within a budget of 300 thousand rubles. Tiling the kitchen floor was done by a worker, while the rest was done by the spouses with their own hands. Painting walls

First, they removed the yellow wallpaper and simply painted the walls. They didn't level them — today's trend is textured surfaces that give a space uniqueness, texture, and a sense of depth. The kitchen door was also repainted white.

Shelves instead of cabinets

To make the space look lighter, upper cabinets were removed. Instead, open shelves made from pine wood were built. The lower corner section was also removed — its place was taken by a mobile functional rack.

Unusual solution for the range hood

When they removed the upper cabinet doors, the plastic casing of the range hood was exposed. They didn't hide it but made it a focal point. The casing was covered in aluminum tape matching the color of the hood — it looks elegant and attractive. This solution cost only 60 rubles.

Colorful cabinet doors

The lower cabinet doors were repainted in a grassy green color. They used universal enamel. The shade belongs to the natural palette, refreshing the interior and filling it with warmth and comfort.

Apron decoration

The kitchen apron was not changed. Several patterned tiles that stood out in color were simply painted white. Now they look minimalist and don't draw attention.

Cozy tablecloth

The table made from dark brown wood was left as is, because it's very spacious. To prevent the table from looking like a dark spot, it was covered with a textile tablecloth. It looks very attractive and adds coziness.
