6 coolest ideas for a small apartment, inspired by a designer's project
Beautiful solutions for a stylish and functional interior
This cozy studio is an example of how you can creatively decorate a space of just 31 square meters. It was designed by Polina Dadyko, a designer and lecturer at the Higher School of Design. She knows how to make a small apartment both beautiful and functional. We're sharing useful tips and cool ideas from the project that are worth noting.

High-quality materials
The client, a young creative woman, bought the apartment for permanent residence, so she didn’t compromise on materials. The window sills, window frames, and furniture were made from oak veneer — an eco-friendly material. Items made from it are both beautiful and long-lasting.

Mirror next to kitchen cabinets
The upper cabinet units of the kitchen were placed only on one wall, while a mirror occupied the space on the other. This visually expanded the room and made it feel more spacious. The mirror reflects sunlight, adds brightness, and serves as a great alternative to the dream of many homeowners — a sink near a window.

Functional sofa
The compact sofa in the living area helps make efficient use of space. Its geometric and clean lines, thin armrests, and perimeter edging create a subtle accent. The sofa easily transforms into a comfortable sleeping area.

Ergonomic table
An original and practical solution — a fold-down countertop attached to the wall with a locking mechanism. When needed, the wall-mounted structure can serve as a full-function table.

Canopy bed
The bedroom was placed in a niche provided by the developer. To enhance zoning and privacy, the bed was decorated with a canopy. It protects the sleeper from sunlight, adds a sense of intimacy and warmth to the interior.

Thoughtful storage in the bathroom
The bathroom is only 3.5 square meters, but everything necessary fits in. A spacious cabinet was built above the installation, a vanity unit was installed under the sink, and the washing machine was hidden behind cabinet doors. The mirrored cabinet above the sink has shelves, and a storage system was created in the niche between the shower and the wall.
