6 Things That Devalue Your Kitchen and Ruin the Interior
We analyze obvious mistakes and provide examples of how to fix them
Let's take a look at obvious things that can spoil the overall impression and significantly devalue the interior of your kitchen. If you notice them in your own kitchen, take these solutions. And if you're only planning a renovation, pay special attention to these details. These are exactly what can cause unpleasant emotions in the end.
1. Large Prints or Wallpaper
This solution occasionally returns to interior design trends, but only for a short time. Therefore, choosing wallpaper will be quite unfortunate if you're planning long-term renovation. We also don't recommend using photo prints on suspended ceilings and floors.
Even if you really want to see a clear sky, palm trees, and grape arches on your kitchen wall, it's unlikely that you can integrate them properly into the room's interior. The kitchen will clash with the overall style of your apartment and make the renovation feel cheap.
Solution: if you need to make an accent, we suggest using color combinations or textures. You can also place accents with paintings or posters.

Regular blinds will be a failure on the kitchen. It's impossible to clean them from odors, soot, and grease. Their unattractive appearance will ruin the cozy atmosphere of your kitchen and turn it into an unappealing office.
Solution: leave the choice of window textiles to a professional or use minimalist curtains or light drapes. This way, you won't overload the interior with unnecessary details and it will look cohesive.

Miscalculating the number of outlets needed for your kitchen is one of the key points in planning. Don't neglect this. Determine in advance what appliances will be used where and how on the kitchen. Add three extra outlets to that number. It's better to have a surplus than to have wires and extension cords spread all over the kitchen, which will show cheapness and lack of planning in your new interior.
Solution: if the renovation is already done and you're short on outlets, neat cable channels or desktop-mounted extension cords can help.

Although a washing machine belongs in the bathroom or laundry room, in small apartments you might sometimes find one on the kitchen. And as a result, all laundry accessories are placed there too — washing baskets, detergent sets, and clothes dryers. Don’t forget that these items don't belong here. They not only ruin the interior but also absorb kitchen aromas.
Solution: ideally, a dedicated room. If space is limited, sort storage in the bathroom, hallway, or balcony.

Always remember that flashy magnets will bring chaos and tastelessness to any interior. Therefore, a refrigerator decorated with such decor won't be the highlight of your kitchen but rather the opposite.
Solution: if you're a happy owner of magnets and don't want to part with them, move these heartwarming souvenirs to a magnetic board or a wall painted with magnetic paint.

Did you think that an essential kitchen item like a range hood could ruin the beauty of your entire interior? An unmasked ventilation flexible pipe will expose all the lack of planning in your renovation. Besides ruining the kitchen's appearance, you'll also get endless cleaning problems. Such a pipe is simply impossible to clean properly because it gets crushed when pressed.
Solution: ideally, install hidden ventilation. If that's expensive or the renovation is already finished, replace the flexible pipe with a smooth and rigid one.
