Cozy and Functional Interior of a Studio Apartment for a Mom
How they transformed a concrete box
Designer Natalia Suslina designed this apartment for the client's mother. It was necessary to organize several sleeping areas and visually expand the space. All this had to be done within a fairly limited budget of 2 million rubles.
We tell you how the renovation went and what was achieved in the end.

Due to the load-bearing wall, it was not possible to create a studio, so the layout was not changed. The corridor smoothly transitions into the kitchen, the bathroom is combined, there is a separate room and a closet.

A sofa bed with a width of 1.2 meters was provided as the main bedroom, and a convertible sofa was designated for guests.
Instead of a bathtub, a shower cabin was installed, which saved space for a front-loading washing machine.

Finishing
All walls were covered with budget paint Dulux in different shades. The floor in the room is laminated with a wood imitation, and in the corridor, kitchen, and bathroom — Spanish ceramic granite Equipe.
The kitchen backsplash is made of universal white 'brick'.

Storage Systems
A custom-made cabinet was installed at the corner, and a pair of floor-standing wardrobes were placed in the passage, which allowed enough storage space to be created.

An open shelf is not only used for books but also perfectly zones the space. The wardrobe and sideboard in the entrance hall are equipped with clothing compartments, shoe shelves, and a spot for a vacuum cleaner with an ironing board.

Furniture
Furniture was chosen from economy-class furniture companies, but some items were custom-made. For example, the stylish console in the living room was designed by Natalia herself and sent for production to the workshop of Vyacheslav Voronin.

Decoration
Since they decided to save money on soft furnishings, the look was enhanced with textiles and decor. Pillows and throws were selected by designer Tatiana Gazieva.

The apartment is adorned with paintings by artist Olga Shaginoy, as well as interior accessories from the gallery 'Accents' and online stores.
