Simple tips that everyone can follow

Even a very small bathroom can be made beautiful and convenient if you plan everything carefully, consider every centimeter, and use plumbing fixtures that match the scale of the room. We share tips on making a small bathroom space ergonomic and functional.

Functional Shelving System

The walls in a bathroom can be effectively used for storing towels and bath accessories. If possible, plan niches in the bathroom during the design phase.

If there are no niches, simple shelves placed in cozy corners or on any free wall can help organize necessary items in the bathroom.

Replace the bathtub with a shower

Designer Anna Nikitina installed a shower cabin on a tray in a small bathroom, laying the same tiles on the base as on the floor. Thanks to glass doors and light glossy tiles inside the cabin, the bathroom appears visually larger.

Hang a Large Mirror

Designer Evgenia Kozjukova placed a mirror across the entire width of the wall — the bathroom visually became twice as large.

To make maximum use of the wall surface, you can also use a shallow cabinet with mirrored doors.

Decorate the Bathroom in the Same Style as the Entire Apartment

A small bathroom can be linked to the overall design of other rooms in the apartment: it will appear larger.

"On a small area, you need to be very attentive to all details," explains designer Masha Kunyakina. "Don't fragment the space, but solve it as a whole, with color solutions that draw attention to themselves, to their shape and volume."

Extend the Vanity Top

A sink with a countertop made of artificial stone is an excellent solution for a small bathroom. Install it from wall to wall, creating additional storage space for various small items.

Such a sink-countertop combination can also hold household chemicals or shelves for necessary items.

Round Sink

Rectangular sinks with sharp angles look modern and stylish, but in a small bathroom, it's better to choose rounded shapes.
