6 Budget Ideas for the Hallway That Everyone Can Replicate
Personal experience of redoing a corridor by yourself
Cool tricks for outfitting a 5 sq. meter hallway we spotted while visiting Pavel. During quarantine, he did a renovation in a "killed" apartment in a regular five-story building and transformed it into a beautiful and stylish space. Pavel has many budget ideas and tips that anyone can replicate if they wish.
1. Mirror on the Door
No one is surprised by this lifehack anymore, but it really works. A mirror panel in the hallway at the entrance saves a lot of space. And you will never forget to look in it if you ever need to return home for something. Plus, it's very budget-friendly: if you don't order a ready-made door but glue the mirror yourself. For the most original ideas, mirrors from FRÅBRU, LOTS, HÖNEFOS and KRABB by IKEA are perfect.

2. Brick Wall
Another budget idea that allows you to save a significant amount during renovation. Pavel used regular MDF panels in a brick pattern, which designers don’t really like. But the choice is yours: will your walls feature expensive bricks or a more affordable imitation.

3. Clothing Hanger
The hanger made from an old barn board was produced at a local factory. Pavel bought the Soviet-era aluminum hooks himself at a flea market in Izmaylovo. This allowed him to make an exclusive piece for a loft interior for quite modest money. Take note!

4. Key Holder
Continuing the loft theme, Pavel made a multifunctional key holder for the hallway. It includes not only hooks but also a slate board for notes, a pocket for correspondence, and even a cactus! Which, by the way, doesn't need watering.

5. Wardrobe
A proper wardrobe in the hallway makes it easy to organize storage for all your things. That's why Pavel planned even a small but quite functional wardrobe. He also made it himself. Pavel slightly aged the roller shutter doors, which can be bought at any hardware store.

Another important factor was the thoughtful filling of the wardrobe. Specifically: one compartment is reserved for seasonal clothes with sliding hangers, and the other is for shoes.

6. Ceiling
The perfect solution for interiors in loft, Provence, cottage and Scandinavian styles is an uneven ceiling. Such natural texture only enhances the distinctive design of the room and significantly saves time and money on renovation.
