6 very beautiful interiors where the main accent is floor covering

Beautiful floor covering can highlight the style of an interior, make it visually more expensive and unique. But it also needs to be properly maintained so that floors retain their original appearance as long as possible.

We collected examples of interiors where designers carefully selected materials for the floor. We also share tips on caring for floor coverings.

Oak parquet planks

On the floor, in one continuous pattern, except for the bathroom and entryway, oak parquet planks were laid, toned for a more saturated color. Natural floor covering pairs well with a table made of solid wooden slab and a living room wall painted in a complex green tone. It is associated with natural forest landscapes.

The transition to ceramic granite was made using a cork compensator. As a result, the surface became perfectly smooth, without visible joints and protruding grooves.

Rich-toned ceramic granite

For bathroom flooring, the designer used beautiful rich-toned wine-colored ceramic granite. Combined with black plumbing fixtures, it creates graphic contrast in the interior. The ceramic granite was laid in a "tree" pattern. This method of laying was also used for laminate in other rooms. Thus, floor coverings echo each other and unite different spaces in the apartment into a single concept.

Stalin-era parquet

The designer's task was to preserve the parquet floors in the bedroom and children’s room of a 1957 Stalin-era apartment. The covering was carefully restored, giving it a shine while maintaining authenticity. In the children’s room, a platform made from ash wood was created, and the natural beech parquet was toned to match. In all other rooms, engineered wood of a rich tone was laid on the floor.

Practical materials with a beautiful texture

In all living rooms, wear-resistant laminate with an active "countryside oak" pattern was laid. In the entryway, ceramic granite for easy cleaning was used. The joint between the laminate and ceramic granite was closed with a steel profile that almost aligns with the floor level. In the bathroom, the floor was laid with ceramic granite resembling wood in pattern, similar to the laminate in the rooms. The color and texture of the ceramic granite also echo the kitchen cabinet fronts.

Wide-format ceramic granite in marble style

In the finishing, the designer preferred natural materials. Thus, parquet planks in a warm tone were laid on the floors of the rooms. In the entrance hall, bathroom, kitchen, and balcony, luxurious wide-format ceramic granite with marble texture was used. The light tone of the floors harmonizes with the kitchen cabinet fronts and elements of the entrance hall design.

Combination of stylish Spanish tiles

For bathroom flooring in the main and guest bathrooms, the designer used a combination of different types and forms of Spanish tiles. It turned out quite unusual. In the bathroom, hexagonal tiles with artificial wear were laid, creating an aged surface effect. In the guest bathroom – geometric-patterned tiles.
