Cheap solutions that look expensive

Designer Anna Mogharrar designed and decorated this beautiful two-bedroom apartment on a limited budget. We tell you where exactly the savings were made.

Gypsum Panels for Accent Wall

For finishing the walls in all rooms, they chose a unified background — a truffle shade. This creates the feeling of 'boundaryless' space, which visually expands the area.

To add variety to the interior, budget-friendly volumetric decor was used on the walls. For example, in the corridor, expensive wall tiles were replaced with gypsum panels, painted in the desired color. Thanks to this 'flexible' material, even installation didn't require additional expenses or effort.

Partition Made of Expanded PVC

A sheet of expanded PVC is cheaper than its analog, but it's only slightly less durable. It's especially suitable for decoration.

Anna used this material to create a partition between the living room and kitchen. The designer herself sketched the design, and the idea was brought to life on a regular router table.

Decorative Furniture Legs

Anna found the TV unit in a classic IKEA, but it looks like a million dollars. The secret is high furniture legs. With them, the unit looks much more elegant.

Shelf Without Back Panel

For the shelf, Anna asked builders to construct thin walls into which shelves could be installed. This way, the designer saved on the back panel and side panels of the shelf. It's made from MDF, with emulsion facades.

Combined Finish in the Bathroom

It might seem that a complex combination of two types of tiles and paint in the bathroom only increased the cost of the renovation.

But it's only an appearance — this technique allowed covering the junction of the walls and the suspended ceiling with cornices. This was cheaper than tiling the entire bathroom with tiles.
