How to Use the Balcony: Hookah Bar, Music Studio, Winter Garden and Other Cool Ideas

The balcony is an additional useful area in the apartment that can be used wisely. If you still see this space as a storage for rarely used items, definitely check out our selection of interesting design solutions.

Relaxation Area with Panoramic View

A spacious balcony was connected to the room and insulated. Tile with a wood imitation was laid on the floor, and the walls were painted white.

The idea of setting up a cozy relaxation area on the balcony is due to the impressive view over the city. Comfortable garden furniture was placed here, and thuja plants in pots were added.

Recording Studio

To achieve this, thick layers of mineral wool were removed from the walls and ceiling of the balcony, and replaced with effective insulation 3 to 5 cm thick. Sound-absorbing panels were installed on the walls. They help properly shape the acoustics in the room and protect neighbors from loud music.

Hookah Bar in Eastern Style

The balcony in the studio apartment was insulated and transformed into a lounge area with a fireplace and sofa.

To create an Eastern atmosphere, decorative stucco was used on the walls. The floor was covered with tiles featuring ethnic patterns. The finish pairs beautifully with the furniture.

Luxurious Wardrobe

If you really want a separate wardrobe but there's no room in the apartment, it can also be arranged on the balcony. For this purpose, the window sill in the bedroom was replaced with sliding glass doors and a storage system was installed there.

Winter Garden

The designer decided to expand the window opening on the balcony to the floor, letting in more natural light. The space is clearly visible from the entrance, creating the effect of a country house with access to a terrace.

Cozy Dining Room

To set up a dining area, the balcony was connected to the living room: now it serves as a full-size dining room for four people and storage systems.

To expand the space, the end of a load-bearing column was clad with mirrors. Inside, a niche with shelves for small items was created.
