Unusual Scandinavian Design: Example from Sweden
In this apartment, against the backdrop of ordinary white walls, they recreated a quite unusual Scandinavian interior: plush upholstery on furniture, feathers instead of flowers, and antique sculptures. The experiment was a success!
Even Swedes sometimes want bright velvet cushions and for the apartment to play blues. This 40 m² two-room apartment with four-meter-high ceilings is just the case. Unlike the interior, the layout is classically Scandinavian: the kitchen and living room are combined, and the bedroom is located on the mezzanine floor. And, of course, wide windows.

The designers chose not to follow the well-trodden path of Scandinavian design and added many black details to the living room. Thanks to the ceiling height and good lighting, they don't blend into one dark spot but rather play on contrast with the white walls. In addition, beige textiles (velvet, plush) and a "shaggy" carpet make the black decor less strict.

The kitchen cabinet is made of wood (cedar veneer). Carefully selected to match the oak waxed floor. By the way, in the kitchen-living room interior, there are many glossy surfaces (dining table, work surface, mirror), which reflect light and make the space visually larger. Thus, designers compensated for the lack of light among dark furniture.

On the mezzanine under vaulted ceilings, designers arranged a bedroom. The same color palette was also used here in the apartment. What is not typical for Scandinavian design is the carpeting. However, it certainly adds coziness and tranquility to the bedroom.

The bathroom in the apartment is truly luxurious. The interior features natural stone cladding on the walls and floor. Large mirrors make the already spacious bathroom even more spacious.

The corridor is long and convenient. Behind a brown screen made of velvet fabric, a coat rack was hidden. A built-in wardrobe serves as a storage space for the rest of the items. To maintain a sense of spaciousness in the corridor, designers decided to make all storage systems closed.
