Homes in rustic style are always like a forest under the roof. Add spruce branches with cones, decorated with glowing garlands and golden New Year's balls — and you'll get a real fairy-tale forest. This house is exactly like that, though it wasn't always so.

The house welcomed its real owners as an old barn — hence the high ceilings, solid wooden beams, and stone masonry that was preserved in some rooms. Only the glazing was updated: panoramic windows from floor to ceiling were installed instead of one wall.

The barn’s past was a designer's advantage from the start, as warm wood and stone tones, combined with wicker chandeliers, oak furniture, and gold and turquoise interior details, make any interior cozy. That was all that was needed.

The dining room, kitchen, and living room are joined together, flooding the space with light. Just look at those windows! For Christmas home decoration, they used a green-gold palette instead of the traditional red New Year's one — it highlights the natural interior.

Turquoise linen textiles added bright accents to the dining room. They pair perfectly with gold candleholders and plant compositions. Instead of usual trinkets and plastic decorations, they used spruce and pine branches, cones, and local plants.

The living room kept the same color scheme: gold, turquoise, and warm beige. Instead of artificial decorative Christmas trees on the coffee table, there's a wicker basket with New Year's balls and leaves. Everything around is adorned with live pine garlands, even the fireplace and chandelier were decorated for the New Year. Plants were arranged in glass bottles instead of vases.

The Christmas tree wasn’t hidden under toys — there were minimal decorations. Instead, attention was paid to the base of the tree: a plastic planter was replaced with a plastic basket.

The bedroom in the house was also decorated. Here, garlands are replaced with a composition made of New Year's cards.
