IKEA Unveils New Collection for Millennials
A check-shaped carpet, digital clocks, and a lit-up reproduction of «Mona Lisa» — IKEA has never shown something like this before
This month, a new IKEA collection launched in the U.S., developed in collaboration with Virgil Ablo, an American fashion designer, creative director of Louis Vuitton, and founder of the Off-White brand.

The collection of 15 items was created with the interests of modern youth in mind. Mostly millennials, who challenge traditions, love comfort and beauty, yet aim to spend little on home decoration.
What's interesting?Virgil approached the design of familiar items with a touch of irony. For example, a light-colored carpet with low pile is made in the form of an IKEA receipt — complete with price and barcode. A great and fun find for modern interiors.
For those who don’t want to constantly worry about time, there are clocks without numerals with the inscription «Temporary» (meaning «temporary»). An interesting fact: Virgil adds quotation marks to all inscriptions to show his ironic attitude.
This is not just a check-shaped carpet, but an art object. It can be placed on the floor or hung on the wall.
Alongside wooden furniture and textiles, the collection includes more unexpected items: a tool set, shopper bags, and even a chair with one shorter leg. There is also a reproduction of Leonardo da Vinci’s «Mona Lisa» with backlighting — so you can create a mini-gallery right in your home.

The collection is limited: on November 1st, items were released in limited quantities in several stores, but you could only buy one item from the collection.
Some items are still available in U.S. online stores, but they will soon appear in Russia as well. It is still unknown which specific items will be available, but we plan to follow the news and share all details with you.
This is the design of our time and a fresh interpretation of familiar interior items.More articles:
