2-room apartment in Sweden: Scandinavian design on a small budget
Large windows in this white apartment open onto a picturesque old courtyard: the entrance is decorated with heavy antique forged gates. Nearby in the same courtyard is a museum: a special organization preserves its historical appearance and protects monuments of the past.
In this apartment, they chose to preserve the historical atmosphere and kept the renovation minimal. The interior turned out not typically modern, but with respect for tradition. They even preserved and restored two old tile stoves.

The apartment area is only 42 sq. m, but thoughtful zoning made the small space feel spacious and convenient.
The kitchen in the apartment is open but separated from the living room. Functional elements — storage cabinets, work surfaces, appliances — stayed in the kitchen. However, the large dining table was moved to the living room. This made the dining area larger.

All walls in the apartment are painted white, but to add accents, a fluffy white-and-black rug was laid on the floor in the room, and natural linoleum in a checkered pattern was used on the kitchen floor.

The old stove was not purely white but had barely visible greenish splashes. Therefore, the apartment is filled with a lot of greenery to complement these splashes. The floor is made from natural pine, and the furniture is also natural wood — the apartment literally "breathes" with nature and fully meets Swedish ideas about eco-friendly housing.

The second stove is located in the corner of the bedroom. Unfortunately, it doesn’t work anymore but adds extra beauty to the already lovely bedroom. The finishing touch is an old wardrobe that was decided to restore rather than replace with a new one. Radiators throughout the apartment were replaced.

The bathroom is located to the left of the living room. It has no particular design elements: everything is neat and white. Square tiles were laid with gray grout — it looks interesting. The white floor was broken up with Moroccan tiles featuring a vibrant pattern.

The entrance hall is small but convenient: it has coat racks, a shelf, and containers for small items, but most importantly, it is full of light, making it seem wide and spacious, which is not at all the case.
