Bright House in Sweden with Hospitable Interior
Modern homes and apartments are shrinking, and the old-fashioned habit of visiting each other's homes is increasingly being replaced by meetings at neutral venues—cafes or bars. This two-story house, 158 square meters in size, located in Stockholm and offered for sale by the Swedish real estate agency Bjurfors, is just right for those who appreciate traditional gatherings with loved ones.

The layout provides for two floors and a total of five rooms, three of which are bedrooms. The remaining space includes two bathrooms with a sauna in one of them, a walk-in closet, a garage on the first floor, and two spacious public areas.

On the first floor, there is a living room with minimal furniture and décor that can be accessed from a spacious foyer and hallway, which in turn divide the space into two parts.
Since a small room does not have windows, it can be used as an additional walk-in closet or changing room. If more guests show up than expected, extra space for shoes and outerwear will come in handy.

A small wooden staircase leads to the second floor, where there is another public area—a living room connected to the kitchen.
The kitchen itself is partially tucked into a niche, well-organized, and despite its apparent small size, it holds all the necessary appliances. Just enough to prepare a lot of home-cooked meals and set the table for a large gathering.

The dining area is located next to the cooking zone, and if there isn’t enough space at the dining table for everyone, guests can sit on the sofa, armchair, or wide banquette in the living room. The designers very delicately separated the kitchen-dining area and living room using wallpaper: they chose a gentle stripe on one side of the space and solid-colored wallpaper on the other.

However, there are more places to sit comfortably for a delicious meal and cheerful conversation: the house has an enclosed terrace where it’s also convenient to gather with a large group.
In summer, more cushions and throws can be brought in, planters with greenery added, and outdoor string lights can be used to make the home atmosphere even more cozy and intimate with family and friends than in a café—no matter how you look at it.
