New IKEA eco-collection we're obsessed with
IKEA launches the campaign «All Ideas in Order» and announces this month's new products, as well as the TENKWERD collection designed to inspire a more eco-friendly home life
The new collection includes furniture, textiles and home accessories. All furniture pieces are made from rattan: they are lightweight, multifunctional and will decorate any room in your home.
Textiles made from linen and eco-friendly cotton are very soft to the touch, whether it's bed linen, towels, throws, pillows, a lamp, a rug or a kimono. Bags and baskets woven from sturdy jute and seaweed can be taken on trips or left at home to add a sense of wanderlust to your interior.
The TENKWERD collection textiles were designed by designer Akanksha Deo from India. «We wanted to create things that would give you comfort and evoke warm feelings,— the designer admits. — Here in India, I work a lot with indigo and natural dyes. So everything started with creating patterns and various combinations. Then it was time to choose materials. We knew they had to be only natural, so we quickly settled on linen, cotton and jacquard. I feel like the textiles from the TENKWERD collection just call to you. You want to approach and touch them. The key definition of products from this collection is «soft to the touch», but elegant understatement and adaptability are also important».
In the TENKWERD series, Scandinavian freshness blends with Japanese tranquility. This gives birth to perfect imperfection. Each item is unique: the slight fabric wrinkling softly emphasizes that all items are handmade.

Rattan bench in the hallway — a place to take off your shoes when you come home and enjoy domestic peace.

Rattan is one of the most environmentally friendly materials in nature. It will take care of both your comfort and the environment.
IKEA designers Inna Vuorivirta and Naike Karlsson worked on creating rattan products. They are intended to complement textiles. The harmony of the collection lies in the combination of color and material. A throw on the bench, a pillow on the stool or a kimono on the hanger soften and enhance the rattan. It creates a dialogue between soft and hard elements, between elegance and casualness.
«Rattan is notable for its eco-friendliness. The fast-growing rattan vine is an important resource for people living in various parts of Indonesia,— Naike clarifies. — Rattan is a recognizable material that requires no special care. Behind every detail and imperfection lies a whole story. It's one of my favorite materials. I wanted to highlight its natural beauty, so I didn't polish it».
Inna tells how she came up with the «open wardrobe». It will help you set up extra storage space without overloading your interior. «I came up with the design of a room screen, but it can also find other uses. I call this item «open wardrobe». It allows you to store clothes easily and comfortably. This attractive casualness perfectly complements the overall mood of the TENKWERD collection».

The screen can be decorated with fabric and become a full-fledged partition. Or it can be left as is and used according to mood.
