Too few outlets

Only two outlets for the entire kitchen? A working setup, but only if you don't use any household appliances like an electric kettle, coffee maker, or blender.

First, count all the electrical appliances you'll use regularly: from a kettle to a multicooker. Add outlets for occasional use, such as a blender or juicer. Also plan for charging your phone: it might come in handy during cooking, and battery life tends to run low.

Installing a convection oven near a window

And especially hanging a flowing curtain! This is not only inconvenient but also fire hazardous: synthetic fabrics melt easily when touched by hot surfaces.

How it should be

Place another row of cabinets between the convection oven and the window — the problem will resolve itself. Hang a Roman or roller blind on the window — it's both practical and stylish.

Forgetting about the projecting windowsill

Or the radiator. Forgetting these can mean that one of your cabinets, drawers, or even a full refrigerator won't open properly. The door will bump into the sill or radiator. Uncomfortable, right?

How it should be

There are several options: you can make the windowsill flush with the wall, add a false panel between the wall and cabinet that matches the width of the projecting sill or radiator, or reduce the depth of the cabinet itself.
