Design Battle: Lounge Area on a Country Terrace
Together with Leroy Merlin, we offered Vera Tarlovskaya and We Create Studio to develop a layout plan and original concept for a country terrace for a large family. This is exactly what's needed when weekend trips are about to begin. See what was created and cast your vote for the best design at the end of the article.
Designers' brief: A glazed terrace of 13.6 sq. m in a country house. Owners: elderly couple, family with a child, dog and cat. Wishes: to create a space for the whole family's rest throughout the year.

We Create Studio's Design
Veronika Leva and Maria Kovalyova are designers and founders of the We Create Studio.
Layout: The space is divided into several zones: for rest and conversation, as well as a children's area with poufs and a chalkboard wall.

Style concept: For ceiling and floor finishing, practical terrace boards were chosen. Wood adds warmth and a special atmosphere needed on a country terrace. One wall is painted in bright yellow, and its section is designated as the children's zone. The chalkboard wall can be decorated with special paint or using chalkboard film. Graphic elements are added by dark details – light fixtures, glass units, baseboards, and door hardware.
The decor color palette includes vibrant red and yellow tones. In winter, these colors will refresh and warm up the space, while in summer they will continue and complement the rich hues of the natural surroundings of the yard and garden. Window textiles are airy and light to avoid overloading the space and visually unite it with the outdoor area.

You will need: Terrace boards 'Optima', Door panel, Pendant Light 'Bagira', Wall Lamp, Rug Inspiration, Throw blanket with large knitting, Decorative pillow, Decorative pillow.
Vera Tarlovskaya's Design
Vera Tarlovskaya is an architect-designer. She graduated from MARCHI in the specialty 'Architecture'. She works on private and public interior design, as well as landscape design for the plot.
Layout: The function of the veranda is divided into a dining area and a small entry zone with a pouf, floor-standing coat rack where clothes can be hung, and shoe cubbies. The designer specifically chose a large round table where the whole family can gather for tea and feel comfortable.

Style concept: The style can be described as fusion, where different pieces of furniture and accessories are combined into one interior: a country version that allows mixing vintage items brought from the countryside with sale finds. The chairs in the dining area are in mid-century modern style: specifically to support the theme of fusion, different models were chosen. The table, pouf, and rug remind of neoclassicism. Lighting and shelving can be attributed to loft style.
To decorate, the designer used fresh spring colors. Varied textiles will warm up cool evenings and blend well with larch terrace boards. An unusual solution is vinyl wallpaper on a felt base on the ceiling.

You will need: Wallpaper, Edison Lamp, Rug Inspiration Lt, Flower Pot 'Patterns', Danubio Mat, Canvas Painting Positivy, Sheffilton SHT-ST7 Seat, SHT-S50 Chair Frame.
