In Style: Decorating Apartment in Eco Style
If you like the eco style, it means you're in trend. We tell you what materials to bet on and how to choose furniture and decor
If a few years ago the peak of popularity was the Scandinavian style, then eco has come to replace it. We've compiled a guide for everyone who wants to beautifully decorate their apartment, and also selected suitable products from our marketplace.
Choosing Materials for Finishing
Make your bet on natural materials — they can be used partially to stay within budget. For finishing, wood and cork are often used, paper and textile wallpapers, as well as hypoallergenic decorative plaster (which perfectly imitates any materials).
An interesting solution is a plant wall with natural greenery. It is equipped with an automatic watering system, but this does not mean that you don't need to care for it behind the wall. Once a week, you will have to mist the leaves and periodically add fertilizers to the soil. However, if you choose a dried flower variant, caring for them will not be necessary.

And Furniture
Give preference to furniture made from natural materials. Of course, plastic chairs are cheaper than wooden ones, but they are much inferior in quality. Under the influence of natural light, the surface quickly loses its color and gets scratched.
Moreover, according to scientists and ecologists, more than 8 billion tons of plastic have been produced in the world since the middle of the last century (according to NatGeo data from 2017, and the figure has since increased). For comparison, plastic volumes can be compared to a billion elephants or 25,000 Empire State Building structures 373 meters high.

What if not plastic?
Designers prefer to use furniture made from cork and wood in their projects. If you want to achieve a feeling of lightness and airiness in the interior, look at elegant rattan woven furniture — it can also be used in a cottage.
There are also more interesting options: for example, a light woven rope folding screen can help separate space and not overload it. If a solid wood table seems too expensive, you can choose a more affordable option — with a wooden top and metal woven base.

Decorating the Interior
Interiors in eco style are usually quite minimalist — thanks to warm and tactile materials, the environment becomes cozy and without an abundance of details. Vases with flowers or dried flowers, a pair of woven baskets, cushions and a throw on the sofa — this is enough to perfect the interior.
By the way, scientists believe that materials from which objects are made can affect our well-being and mood. Therefore, try to avoid artificial materials that emit harmful vapors and can cause allergies. For example, a carpet can be chosen from eco-friendly jute or sea grass, and a throw from cotton.

Choosing Lighting
Choose lamps so that they look natural in the interior and practically blend into the surrounding environment. Make your bet on simple and clear lines, as well as natural tones.
Fabric, paper, and rattan-woven lampshades will add warmth to any interior. The only thing is: they require care — it's important to make sure dust doesn't accumulate on the lamps, and it's easier to remove it right away.
