Idea + Collages
Marina, a mother of a 1.5-year-old girl, approached us with a request to transform the guest bedroom into a children's room. The only condition she set was that we should not change the wall and floor coverings.
The children's room had to fit into the home’s classic-style interior and compensate for the lack of natural light in the room. We developed several collages, but ultimately chose a variant with floral ornaments on the wall.

We also created several furniture arrangements: with a children's bed and an extra-long one.

Finishing
The most challenging part was incorporating dark brown doors and Venetian plaster on the walls: the child’s father strictly didn’t want to change them. After our conversation, he allowed us to experiment with one wall, which became the starting point for developing the entire concept of the room.
Furniture and Decor
Some items were ordered from our online store, others were custom-made. We prioritized storage spaces for books and toys. For this purpose, a console table and a shelf with a sliding bottom drawer were used — its manufacturing was based on my sketch.
To integrate the existing dresser into the new interior, we invited artists. It was painted on-site. We also remade the child's playpen and adapted it to the overall setup. Curtains and decorative cushions were sewn on order.

Project Implementation and Cost
About 3.5 months passed from approving the design concept to its implementation. Fortunately, we had immediate understanding with the client: Marina actively participated in the project, even though she was abroad during its execution.
Visiting the site for consultation and measurements cost 5,000 rubles. Then we made a layout plan with furniture placement and several collage options. This work cost 15,000 rubles. The remaining task was to compile a specification with furniture, lighting, and additional works. The average check for furniture, decor, and accessories was 500,000 rubles.
Tips for Organizing a Children's Room
Determine Which Functional Zones You Need
A children's room will be relevant for a child up to 3–4 years old if you plan a creativity zone and provide enough storage for books and toys. The sleeping area in modern crib models can easily transform from a bassinet to a bed without railings.
When the child turns 5–6 years old, the interior can still be relevant if you replace the crib and set up a small desk.

Plan the Color Palette
Soft pastel tones are perfect for a children's room: warm mint, dusty pink, vanilla ice cream color, cloudy blue. Over time, it will be easy to change furniture pieces in such an environment, and the room will remain functional until the child starts school.

Create an Accent Wall
You can paint it using drawing paints or colored pencils. Or you can cover it with printed wallpaper.

Place a Children's Tent or Playpen
This will add variety to the interior, and the child will have their own play corner.
