11 Simple Habits That Will Help You Save Money
We explain why all devices should be unplugged and at what temperature to wash clothes to avoid overpaying for electricity. We also remember how much water leaks from a dripping tap.
How to save on electricity?
Turn off the lights when leaving the room
If you forget to turn off the light once at night, it won't significantly impact your budget. The main thing is not to make this a habit.
Unplug appliances you're not currently using
Televisions, printers and computers continue to consume electricity even when they are turned off. They operate in standby mode waiting for the next activation, which leads to additional energy consumption.

Most water heaters can heat water up to 75 degrees Celsius. For human comfort, a temperature of 50–55 degrees is already optimal, so you can reduce the heating power.
Don't run the dishwasher or washing machine if they aren’t full
These appliances usually consume the most electricity. It's better to accumulate laundry and wash all clothes at once rather than run the machine multiple times for just a few items. Just don't overfill it: to ensure proper washing, fill the machine to 70–80%.
Wash at 30 degrees Celsius
Detergents effectively clean in cold water. Additionally, washing at 30 degrees uses four times less energy than at 60.

In an empty freezer, energy is consumed twice as much, so it’s better to fill the space with food items. If there's nothing to put in, you can freeze seasonal fruits or leave bottles of water in the freezer.
Maintain optimal indoor temperature
To avoid using additional heating devices in winter, insulate windows and doors properly.
How to save on utility bills for water?
Fix dripping taps
A dripping tap wastes approximately 20 liters of water per day. If the tap is leaking heavily, you could lose several thousand rubles a year.
Don’t rinse dishes before placing them in the dishwasher
Dishes won't get cleaner this way, and you'll only waste water.

If you don't want to manually time your shower, use a special shower timer.
Don’t leave the water running constantly
For example, turn off the tap while brushing your teeth. Imagine how much water flows out just by leaving the tap on for a little over a minute.
